Madison & Main invited Cry to collaborate with them on their re-introduction of everyone’s favorite talking wall outlet - Jack. “Jack is Back” shows us that Jack was never really gone, he was just waiting for a new homeowner to move in.
Telling new homeowners Morgan and Natalie how they can be energy-conscious, and empathizing with Dad’s exhaustion, Jack is a familiar voice in a new place - but this time with a facelift!
With Cry’s reimagining of the classic 2D wall outlet, a 3D version of Jack was born! In close collaboration with Chakana Studio, Cry worked hard to make Jack even more lifelike and integrated into the space than ever before.
While introducing named characters, we wanted to ensure the commercial was still from Jack’s POV. In each room, we asked ourselves “what would this space and these characters look like from the wall outlet’s perspective?”
In addition to storyboarding and creative support, CRY offered full-service production and guided the project through post-production, collaborating closely with the editors, director and animation team to get Jack’s new and improved facial expressions just right.
